I have worked as a paralegal for over 25 years in many different areas of the law including, business, civil litigation, real estate and estate planning/probate. I have also served on the board of directors of a small nonprofit which included serving as Secretary, Vice President and President. Throughout my paralegal career and during my time on the board, I learned a great deal about financials which eventually led to accounting classes and taking over the bookkeeping duties for the nonprofit as my tenure on the board concluded. I found I thoroughly enjoyed the bookkeeping role, and it sparked a new passion in me. While my legal career has been fulfilling, I decided I wanted to focus more on helping small businesses and nonprofits achieve their full potential. My background of paralegal, board director and bookkeeping provides me with a unique set of skills and insight. I want to get to know my clients, their dreams and goals and help them achieve them.
If you're wondering, why "Back Roads Bookkeeping", my husband and I have a dream to start traveling as soon as we can once we get our kids through school. We greatly enjoy the outdoors which is where we came up with "Back Roads Bookkeeping." I look forward to meeting you and learning about your dreams!
